What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathic principles are the basis for a holistic approach to health. These include:
First do no harm
As a naturopathic. practitioner, I utilise non-invasive treatments that are safe with minimal risk of side effects.
The healing power of nature
The Naturopathic remedies I use work in harmony with your body’s systems to establish homeostasis (an internal stability and balance of cells or system) and I recognise the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.
Identify and treat the root cause
Through thorough investigation and possibly further testing, I aim to identify and address the root cause of dis-ease looking beyond your symptom picture.
Doctor as teacher
Educating and supporting patients on personal health management is an important role in my practice. I aim to empower patients to take responsibility for their own health.
Treat the whole person
This concept recognises the body as an integrated whole. Naturopaths treat the patient, not just the disease. A naturopathic assessment may investigate nutritional status, lifestyle, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors in your personal life.
Prevention
The concept that prevention is better than cure. I will assess risk factors and disease susceptibility in order to preserve and maintain your long-term health.

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic approach to wellness based on the principle that the body has the innate ability to heal itself when given right conditions

Further testing
Your symptom picture is the best way to understand your health and individual needs, however, sometimes further testing is required. Functional testing will help develop a deeper understanding of your health requirements and assist in establishing any health conditions. I may refer you to your GP, request tests myself (via NutriPath) or ask for you to bring in your test results
